Starting from 2024, the project conducted a trial cultivation of lavender to assess its suitability within the project area. The plants were carefully nurtured from the nursery stage in seedling bags through to transplantation into the field. As the lavender plants grew well and became visually attractive, not only local residents but also visitors from other areas began to visit. As a result, a village committee was formed at the model agricultural farm, and a lavender garden was officially opened with an entrance fee of 1,000 MMK.
The income generated from the entrance fees was reinvested as a village development fund for the community where the model farm is located, and it was used for necessary improvements to the garden. The lavender garden has been managed and operated by the village committee members, who also oversee nearby sales activities and maintain cleanliness in the area.
In addition, during the harvesting period, seeds were systematically collected and preserved for future experimental cultivation in the coming years.
