Socio-economic Survey of Baseline and Benchmark

Benchmark Survey Collection in project villages by volunteers (8)

The project collected baseline surveys in the first year of the project and benchmarks socio-economic surveys in the following years from 99 villages of 4 village tracts by applying probability proportional to size sampling technique to measure the annual development of the project villages. Project volunteers collected survey data from 545 households. The project could decide to make future work more efficient, easy and fast, and implement sustainable alternative livelihood development activities based on the survey data. The project collects from the same households yearly and there are no changes on the households list.

Based on Mae Fah Luang Foundation’s 3S Model, the village poverty line has been developed. In addition, the average annual income of a household has been analyzed to indicate survival and sufficiency, based solely on the village context. Surveys were conducted from 2019 to 2024, during which annual household incomes were compared. According to the 2024 survey results, 2 project village tracts have successfully reached the survival line. The households list of the collected survey from 2019 to 2025 are as follows:

The project volunteers collect data through a survey annually provided with water system by the project, so that the details of the yearly water usage, problems and requirement and also the condition of annual development in the villages can be evaluated. The list of villages and households (HHs) that have been surveyed from 2019 to 2025 are in table.
